I think this is a great book -- I have a very diverse class and majority of my students are from all around the world-Africa, India, Columbia and Brazil and many other locations. This is a great tool to use to help you better assist the students in your class. How to approach parents and how to help each student individually.

Great inspirational quotes to help you start your day...waking up every morning to work in a classroom with children can sometimes be challenging and take a lot of energy emotionally, mentally and physically. Its good to read something positive and uplifting.

Quotes --

Marian Wright Edelman

“If you don’t like the way the world is, you change it. You have a obligation to change it. You just do it one step at a time”

“It is the responsibility of every adult…to make sure that children hear what we have learned from the lessons of life and to hear over and over that we love them and that they are not alone.”

Personal Childhood Web

This is George Carter this is my dad he has encouraged me to be a better person. He influenced me during my adult years--he will gives me encouraging phone calls to continue college and work hard to accomplish any goals I have set for my life. I am blessed to have my dad in my life. My favorite memory is when we went fishing every Saturday and I would catch brims and eat snacks. I enjoyed the competitions of who can catch the most fish.

This is Ella Anderson she is my aunt she is my role model. I moved to Georgia because she was here I stayed with her until I found a job. She always offered encouraging words and job opportunities. My aunt asked me to go to the hair salon with her we got lost looking for the salon. We laughed because the salon was right in the area we was looking.

This is my mother Ida Carter she has been my backbone she helps me in so many ways. She is always that person to call when I need someone to talk to. My mother has a wonderful personality she is so humorous. She has pushed me to follow my dreams if I want to finish the Masters program then do it. My mom didn't finish college so she encouraged me to finish college so she is living her life through me. My favorite memory with my mother is going on road trips with her. We sing songs and talk about our lives and our many experiences.

This is my great aunt Irma Anderson she is a very big blessing to my family she prays for us as a family and individually. She would pick up my cousins and I for school and we loved to talk to her on our way to school. She is the biblical person in our family she is a Evangelist and she is the person we call when we are experiencing something challenging in life. The favorite memory with my aunt is when she prayed for me to find a job and I found a job that same week. I called her and laughed and talked about the experience and I was so happy.

This is my great aunt Ella she is very encouraging she encouraged me to be a better person in my professional life. She pushed me to go to college and the family gave us money prizes for finishing college. The family will acknowledge all the college students give us necessitates and more during that college experience. We would receive cards and gifts for specific holidays and birthdays. My favorite memory would be at our family reunion and we played with water balloons.

 A poem that I love--
Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together make this world a beautiful garden--
 author unknown

A few things that melt my heart--

This is my first blog-- My name is Iris Carter I am in the masters program at Walden University

"The kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn—I love this book because I see so many children have such a hard time saying goodbye to their parents in the morning//afternoon etc.. That parent/emotional detachment is something that is very hard for small children to do. I had a hard time going to school as well I cried all day and I think of this book still when I  still miss my mother. I moved to Atlanta Ga alone and it is still hard for me to say goodbye when I go home. I think of this book all the time and I say to myself my mother is always with me no matter where I go (she is in my heart).
