My Collection to Play

I am from Mississippi We played outside all the time. My parents encourage outside play we didn't play inside. We rode our bikes played in the dirt (made mud pies) climbed trees walked through trails, played basketball, ran races and went to the pond and threw rocks in the water (make the rocks skip along the water--it took practice and technique)/fishing. I remember visiting my grandpa and uncles pig pens and seeing the cows and horses. We devoted our day to outside time. I think play is really different now most children stay inside during the summer or their parent send them to camp. I feel like camp was our backyard I never had a dull moment. Playing outside was a great way to explore new things in nature. The role of play is whatever the child has assessable to them. My parents gave us many toys to play with outside. When I have children I will do the same thing my kids will play outside majority of the time. I will build a tree house and other things that will make outside time very fun.
